Welcome to the Bali Chess International "Kapal Api FIDE Rated" tournament. The event will be conducted in accordance with the FIDE Laws of Chess. Below are the official regulations, schedule, and key details for all participating players.

2. Categories & Eligibility

  • FIDE Rating Tournament: Open to players with a FIDE rating of 2000 and below.
  • Supporter/Organizer: Jakarta Muda Chess Club Milenial.

3. Location (Venue)

Ballroom, Hotel Ululani, Bali, Indonesia.

4. Time Control

  • Standard Chess: 60 minutes per player, with a 30-second increment per move starting from the first move.
  • Blitz Chess: 3 minutes per player, with a 2-second increment per move starting from the first move.

5. Pairing

The Swiss Manager software will be used for the pairings draw. Pairing results will be announced after each completed round on the official announcement board and official tournament communication channels.

6. Default Time

The default time for a walkover (WO) is 30 minutes. Players who are absent without prior notice will not be paired for the next round until their participation is re-confirmed with the Chief Arbiter.

7. Chess Equipment

Chess boards, chess sets, and chess clocks will be provided by the organizing committee.

8. Tie-Break System

In case of tied points, the latest FIDE Tie-Break Regulations will be applied. Please note that cash prizes will not be split equally. The tie-break order is as follows:

  1. Direct Encounter
  2. Buchholz Cut 1
  3. Buchholz
  4. Sonneborn-Berger
  5. Number of Wins

9. Electronic Devices

Mobile phones, smartwatches, and all other electronic devices are strictly forbidden in the playing area.

10. Fair Play Rules

FIDE Fair Play Rules and Anti-Cheating Regulations will be strictly enforced throughout the entire duration of the tournament.

11. Appeals Committee

The Appeals Committee consists of three members from different regions:

  • Chairman: Muhammad Novian Siregar, FA
  • Member: Representative of Jakarta Muda Chess Club Milenial
  • Member: [Member Name] (Please replace with the appropriate name)

Note: All protests must be submitted in writing within 15 minutes after the completion of the round in question, accompanied by a protest fee of Rp1,500,000. If the protest is upheld, the fee will be refunded. If rejected, the fee will become the property of the organizing committee.

12. Code of Conduct & Additional Rules

All players must comply with the following rules:

  • Dress Code: Players must follow the official dress code during the tournament and prize giving ceremonies. Singlet shirts, shorts, and sandals are not permitted.
  • Smoking: Smoking is strictly forbidden inside the tournament hall.
  • Hygiene: Water bottles must be placed on the floor, not on the chess table.
  • Score Sheet: Players must hand over the original signed score sheet to the arbiter immediately after each game is completed.
  • Communication: Communicating with spectators or other players while a match is in progress is strictly forbidden.
  • Playing Area: Players who have finished their games are considered spectators and must immediately leave the playing area.
  • Wrong Board: Players who sit at the wrong board or play against an opponent different from their official pairing will be declared to have forfeited that round.
  • Mobile Phone: Players whose mobile phones ring or make a sound inside the playing hall will be immediately declared to have forfeited.
  • Inspection: Arbiters may perform random inspections in accordance with the FIDE Laws of Chess and the Fair Play Regulations.
  • Compliance: Players must comply with all tournament regulations. Violations may result in penalties or disqualification.
